SUBJECT: Fundraising Golf tournament – Archbishop birthday Gala dinner
Rivers of Living Waters Ministry will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary. During this period of its existence, the Ministry has grown to 20 000 members in more than 40 branches. As part of its forward-looking developments and its existence, the Ministry resolve to build a community centre that will accommodate twelve thousand (12 000) people. The primary purpose of the centre beyond spiritual objective will be to host major events that will, in turn, assist to grow and boost the tourism sector in Sedibeng District and Gauteng Province in general.
It is envisaged that the centre will also create employment opportunities in the short-term of construction and in the long-term create more sustainable jobs in the hospitality sector and management of the centre.
The estimated cost of the centre is approximately R100-million without factoring any possible escalation costs. The Ministry has already acquired an 8.5 Hector site in Unitas Park, Vereeniging in the name of the Ministry. The Ministry has embarked and will be embarking on the fundraising activities in the next few months, in order for the project preparation and commerce. Mr. Bob Mthembu has been appointed to help with the Project Management, while His Grace Archbishop BS Zondo as the leader and general overseer of Ministry will inherently lead the fundraising efforts.
In its history, the Ministry has embarked on an outreach program that involves Crusades, Television, Radio and Social media to reach out to its members, supporters and all those who are prepared to receive the preaching and teachings of the Ministry. The Ministry has also held Conferences, Gala dinners, Golf tournaments and voluntary contributions to its revenue. In this instance, the Ministry will be involved in the same outreach and fundraising activities. It is for this reason and in line with its fundraising endeavour the Ministry will host a Golf tournament on the occasion to celebrate Archbishop BS Zondo birthday on the 26 January 2018, while the actual birthday in on the 24 January. The Golf tournament will be followed by the price giving Gala dinner, the table for the dinner which includes participation in tournament ranges from R2500 per seat and those wishing to share and sit with the Archbishop on his table will be requested to contribute R10 000 per sit. It is hoped with this endeavour the Ministry will be able to raise its initial target of R 100-million in the shortest period possible.
